purl was a pop punk supergroup which existed in 1995 and1996. it was the bands Julia (santee) and papillon (El Cajon), minus there "lead singers" they played 3 shows. once they found themselves mired inthe middle of the infamous majorlabel bidding wars of San Diego in the mid 90s,egos and pressure got to be too much, and the band broke up because creative differents. every one still has black eyes ... more

Takes me back to my high school classroom during the days of binging Inio Asano's old manga scanlations before anything was licensed. At that time, I was discovering many kinds of Asian shoegaze, but I've never heard anything like this. Makes me think of Pasteboard, Supecar, and Midnight Pingpong a bit, and it's funny bc the first two I listen have blue album covers too.
